Sungrow SBR rebate
Checked against the approved list
Listed until 30 November 2026. Installs after that need a renewed listing to earn certificates; rule 1.
SBR064, the smallest listed size
Waiting past 31 Dec 2026 costs $280
The SBR's rebate maths is ordinary; its timing is not. Treat 30 November 2026 as the real deadline unless the listing is renewed, which makes the January step-down the second deadline, not the first.

How the SBR sizes land on the taper
Of the listings this site tables, the SBR's ends first: certificate BAT-474 runs out on 30 November 2026. Sungrow may renew it before then, as makers often do, but until it does, an SBR whose compliance certificate is dated 1 December or later has no listing to claim against.
That changes the usual advice about the step-down. For most batteries the date that matters is 31 December; for an SBR it is a month earlier, at a time of year when installers are already busy.
On size, the SBR128 (12.8 kWh) is the biggest stack that earns the full factor on everything. The SBR160 adds a module that is partly in the 60% band, and each module from there to the SBR256 adds 3.2 kWh at 60%.
Other Sungrow batteries on the list
Sungrow has three battery families on the list: the SBR, the SBH, and the commercial ST range from 49.9 kWh. The SBR is the smaller, modular one, and its listing runs out first, five weeks before the SBH's.
Before you sign for a SBR
- Put 30 November 2026 in the contract as the latest install date, or a clause that the price assumes the listing is current on the day.
- Before installation, ask the installer to show you the SBR on the Clean Energy Council list for your install date.
- If the timing doesn't work, Sungrow's SBH is listed to 4 January 2027 and starts at 10 kWh.
