BYD Battery-Box Premium HVS rebate

Checked against the approved list

Listed until 17 January 2027. Installs after that need a renewed listing to earn certificates; rule 1.

HVS 5.1, the smallest listed size

Waiting past 31 Dec 2026 costs $200

The HVS is the simplest battery here to price: its rebate rises with size at the full rate. Its limit is capacity, not the taper, because at 12.8 kWh it stops before the rate would fall.

How the Battery-Box Premium HVS sizes land on the taper

No HVS size reaches 14 kWh, so every kilowatt-hour of every size earns the full STC factor. That makes the HVS rebate a straight line: about the same dollars per kilowatt-hour whether the stack has two modules or five.

Usable equals nominal on the CEC listing. The certificate (BAT-489) is listed until 17 January 2027, a little over two weeks after the step-down; HVS batteries certified after that date need a renewed listing to earn certificates.

Other BYD batteries on the list

The HVS is BYD's smaller high-voltage stack. Past 12.8 kWh the step up is a different BYD range rather than another HVS module: the HVM or HVM+ (to 22.1 kWh) or the newer HVB (to 29.7 kWh), each under its own listing and expiry date.

Before you sign for a Battery-Box Premium HVS

  • Check the quote names an HVS size from 5.1 to 12.8. Anything bigger is a different BYD range with a different listing.
  • If your install could slip into the second half of January 2027, ask the installer to confirm the HVS listing has been renewed past 17 January.
  • An HVS stack can't reach the 60% band, so adding a module never costs you rebate rate; the only question is whether you need the capacity.
